How much will your project cost? Every part is different, so each job is quoted individually — but the price is built from a handful of predictable factors. This guide explains what shapes the cost of 3D printing, 3D scanning and 3D modelling in Malaysia, and how to get an exact price for your part.
What affects the price of 3D printing?
Our 3D printing service prices are generally based upon the following five factors:
- Material. Commodity filaments such as PLA and PETG sit at the affordable end of the range, while engineering materials — nylon, PC, ASA, TPU and engineering resins — cost more per part because the material and process parameters are more demanding.
- Size and build volume. How much of the build chamber your part occupies, how long it takes to print and how much support material it needs are the biggest drivers of machine cost.
- Quantity. Unit price falls as quantity rises — a batch of ten identical brackets costs far less per piece than ten separate one-offs, and production runs are cheaper again.
- Print quality and layer height. Fine layer heights and smooth surfaces take more machine time than fast draft settings. Tell us where the part needs strength and where it needs finish, and we will balance the two.
- Finishing and post-processing. Support removal, sanding, priming, painting, thread inserts and assembly are quoted by the labour involved.

How 3D scanning and modelling are quoted
The cost of a 3D scan greatly depends on a number of key factors. Hence, it’s really important to consider that every object is different and needs to be quoted for on an individual basis. Accordingly, our 3D scanning costs are generally based upon the following five factors:
- Object size. Larger objects need more scan passes, more stitching and often multiple setups to capture every surface.
- Geometry and surface. Deep cavities, thin walls, reflective or dark surfaces and complex internal features all take more skill and time to capture cleanly.
- Accuracy and resolution required. Verification-grade scans to a stated tolerance take longer than visualisation scans.
- Deliverable. A raw scan mesh costs less than a cleaned, watertight model — and converting a scan into a fully-featured CAD model (reverse engineering) is 3D modelling work on top of the scan.
- Turnaround. Standard scheduling keeps costs down; if you need a fast turnaround, tell us your deadline and we will tell you what is possible.
Reverse engineering and 3D modelling projects are quoted on the complexity of the part, the quality of the source data (scan, sketch or drawing) and the output you need — a printable file, a parametric CAD model, or a full manufacturing drawing.

Yes — we serve clients across Malaysia. Parts can be collected from our Kuala Lumpur workshop or shipped to you.
How is my design data protected?
Your files and designs are treated as confidential and are never disclosed to any unrelated party. If you need a formal agreement before sharing files, just ask.
